Fueltek tank sizing calculator

What size fuel tank do you need?

Start with how much fuel your operation uses and how often you expect deliveries. The calculator adds reserve cover and future-growth allowance to give you an indicative minimum storage requirement.

The result is a planning guide, not a final storage or installation specification. Fueltek should confirm the tank, site, delivery and compliance requirements before purchase.

Start with your fuel usage.

Enter a typical usage figure, how frequently you want deliveries, and how much reserve/growth allowance you want to build in. The calculator then suggests the next suitable published Fueltek tank capacity where one is available.

%

Tip: use a realistic average rather than your quietest week. A larger reserve gives more protection against delivery delays, while the growth allowance leaves room for increased future usage.

Fueltek tank range

Choose the capacity. Then choose the configuration.

Fueltek FS tanks are normally rectangular and fully bunded. The published standard dimension table currently covers capacities from 1,000 to 130,000 litres, while Fueltek's published range states custom capacities can extend to 200,000 litres. Final dimensions, cabinet arrangement, compartments and site suitability should be confirmed for the actual installation.

01

Standard bunded tank

Rectangular mild-steel storage tank for commercial onsite fuel storage. Start with the capacity table below, then specify dispensing and monitoring equipment around the site.

Published standard capacities
02

Full-end cabinet

Add a full-end equipment cabinet with roller-shutter access so pumps, controls and associated equipment can be housed as part of the tank package.

Capacity selected to suit the site
03

Compartmentalised tank

Split storage into separate compartments where more than one compatible product needs to be stored and dispensed from the same overall installation.

Compartment split specified per project
04

Custom size or shape

Where the standard footprint does not fit the site, Fueltek can review a non-standard tank size, shape, colour or equipment configuration.

Need something outside the standard table? Fueltek's published tank information states that non-standard sizes and shapes can be manufactured. The best next step is to calculate the capacity you need, then confirm the final footprint, compartments and equipment with Fueltek.

Discuss your tank

Already have dimensions? Check the capacity.

If you already know the internal dimensions of a rectangular tank, use this secondary calculator to estimate its geometric capacity, current contents and ullage.

Next step

Confirm the tank around the real site.

The calculator gives an indicative capacity. Fueltek can then review storage, tank configuration, delivery access, dispensing equipment, Tankwatch monitoring and installation requirements around the actual operation.

Fueltek publishes standard tank capacities from 1,000 litres upward and can manufacture non-standard tanks where required. Final suitability remains subject to detailed specification.
